According to the Central Statistics Office (CSO) in Q1 2017, the Construction Sector was employing 142,500 people, (7% of the total employed in Ireland), in Irish construction jobs, which is an increase of 46,200 on the 96,300 recorded employed in the sector in Q1 2013.
The latest CSO employment figures for Ireland (Q1 2017), show the total number of persons in employment was 2,045,100. This represented an increase of 68,600 (+3.5%) since Q1 2016.
Overall, the number of persons in employment has increased by 203,300 (+11.0%) between Q1 2011 and Q1 2017. Full-time employment (+202,700) accounted for virtually all of this increase, while there was a very slight increase in part-time employment.
