With enabling works completed, Main Contractor John Paul Construction, Co. Dublin has been appointed for the construction of a 120 bed ward accommodation facility for the National Rehabilitation Hospital.
The proposed building will be comprise a gross floor area of approximately 17,000m2. The building will provide direct linkages to the existing hospital buildings and will include demolitions and associated site works. The Works will be carried out on active hospital campus site. Hospital activities must remain uninterrupted at all times during the Works.
It is estimated that the first phase of the project will cost €40 million and this is being funded by the National Rehabilitation Hospital foundation, the sale of NRH land and by the Health Service Executive.
Construction work is expected to commence in August 2017 and take in the region of 24 months to complete.
