We have a new role available for a Junior Contracts Manager to work with an established Connaught-based building contractor.
This role may suit an experienced Site Engineer, Site Manager or Project Manager who is looking to progress their career with a local contractor.
The successful person will work from my client's office 3 to 4 days per week and will travel to sites 1 to 2 days per week.
Role:
- Working closely with senior management to ensure residential projects are successfully planned, managed and delivered.
- Ordering materials and obtaining quotations.
- Occasional setting out.
- Working with management and project teams to resolve any unexpected technical difficulties or other problems that may arise.
- Prepare material quantities for projects.
- Liaising with Design Teams, local authorities, etc
- Assisting with Health and Safety related matters.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and legal obligations.
- Endeavour to spot and highlight value engineering opportunities.
Essential skills and experience:
- Good knowledge of compliance with building regulations relating to residential developments
- Good knowledge of the required BCAR documentation and associated requirements.
- Experience in residential construction.
- Must be competent in the use of AutoCAD
- Experience in the use of robotic total station, EDM instruments, GPS etc
- Experience liaising with members of the design team
- Experience in ordering materials /dealing with suppliers to obtain quotations
- Must be familiar with Irish Water Construction details
- Minimum of 3 years experience working as a Site Engineer or Site Manager on residential projects.
- A good understanding of general site Health and Safety and safety documentation required for trades on the site.
Desired skills and experience:
- Both traditional and timber frame experience.
- Experience dealing with Irish Water.
Education requirements:
- Third-level degree (or equivalent) in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or similar.
- Sound knowledge of construction methods, health & safety, Environmental and legal regulations
The remuneration package offered will depend on experience.
